Lucy in the Class of 2008?

Since there is no such thing as bad publicity, I am still curious about the fate of Lucy Montgomery’s application to be a member of the class of 2008. For those who don’t know Lucy, here is a picture.

lucy.atwt.jpg

Longtime readers will recall that Lucy interviewed at Williams in March (must have been a last minute thing). Lucy, played by Peyton List, is a character on As The World Turns. Surely the sets of soap-opera-experts and Ephblog-readers overlaps enough that someone can provide us with an update.

How any of this might or might not be connected to a recent Record article or other threads here will be left to the discretion of Dick Nesbitt ’74 . . .

[Would you have put up a picture of Montgomery if the name had been Luke instead of Lucy? — ed. Yes! Having daughters gives one a whole new perspective on such questions.]

Here in Bermuda, everyone watches The Young and the Restless, so I can’t say I know anything about this one.

(not that I would know much about the YatR stuff either, other than that it is quite popular here)

Is that thing about Playboy ranking Eph women as unattractive an urban (or rural in this case) legend?

Perhaps Peyton’s acceptance may be the college’s way of correcting this negative pr…

anyway…

I’ve never even heard of the Playboy thing – is that recent or from when we were there (or before)?

As for the girl – I think it is just on the show, the Lucy character – the real actress probably has no desire to go to Williams.

As for other actors/actresses
I can recall two guys a year ahead of me that went on to get into acting on TV, one of them was in a commercial for the Wall Street Journal – the other had a pilot that he was to be on when he graduated and I never heard about it again.
In the class of 1999, there is Robin Paul (although she started in that class, not sure if she graduated in that year or not) – she was on Ed for a season or so.

The Playboy thing was around when we were at Williams. I heard about it ever since freshman year (so had to date from before ’95).

I once saw Robin Paul in an article in Marie Claire I think it was. She was one of a few women featured/interviewed in the article, but for girly issues – like thoughts on body image, etc. Not relating to her being an actress.

Man, magazines never ask me about my thoughts on girly issues like body image.

I might take some time out right now to write a letter to Popular Science and let them know how I feel about my thighs.
