David Ramos ’00 was kind enough to pull out specific pages from the OnCampus publication that was passed out at graduation and reunion. I had been trying to sweet-talk the College into doing this — after all, a lot more people will read the articles if they are not bundled together in a 25 page file — but wasn’t getting very far.

It is nice to see, however, the the College has been pulling out some of the articles and posting them on its main homepage. See here for a nice article on some biology senior theses in the class of 2004.

In any event, today’s page concerns the retirement of three professors. My favorite quote comes from lacrosse coach (and ex-Marine) Renzi Lamb.

Lamb, who came to Williams in 1968, is revered for the pep talks he gave to his teams every year before playing arch rival Amherst. A rendition of his speech was even quoted in an article by The New York Times about the endurance of Williams-Amherst hostility: “If you wish to be happy for an hour, get intoxicated. If you wish to be happy for three days, get married. If you wish to be happy for eight days, kill a pig and eat it. If you wish to be happy forever, beat Amherst.” Amen.

More thoughts on Lamb here. Of course, Renzi is wrong about the marriage part, at least if you are lucky enough to marry an Eph Woman.
