Every Friday from 4-5 in the afternoon, WCFM presents “The Hour,” a news talk show that explores issues important to the Williams community. This week I examine resources available for students looking for summer jobs and beyond, by talking with Fatma Kassamali, Director of the Office of Career Counseling. You can listen live on campus at 91.9 FM, or listen online at wcfm.williams.edu. I encourage listeners to call in during the show with their questions and comments as well, the number is 413-597-2197.

I thought EphBlog would be a great way to get listeners both on and off campus who are interested in learning more about Williams news directly from those who make it. Each week I plan to post the topic for that Friday’s show on EphBlog in the hopes of gaining interest both on and off campus for my show and WCFM in general.

I [Nathan Friend] am a sophomore who has been interested in public radio for my entire life and has been involved with WCFM as Production Director for this school year. This semester, however, I started a news talk show modeled after some of my favorite NPR shows (including Seattle’s “Weekday, with Steve Scher” on KUOW, a daily talk show I interned for last summer), in order to offer a place for students and everyone else involved with Williams to find out more about what is going on.

Past topics have included studying abroad, small businesses on Sping Street, the new construction on campus, and interviews with both pairs of candidates for College Council Co-president.

Please send me your questions, comments, and suggestions at thehouronwcfm@yahoo.com

Thanks so much for your interest, and keep listening!
