On Thursday, the college sent out an e-mail (see below) to students and alumni in the areas affected by Katrina, asking how they’re doing. The responses are here.

Dear Williams Alumni, Parents and Friends,

Since the devastation caused by Hurricane Katrina became all too clear you have been in our thoughts and prayers. Please know that your friends in the Williams community are concerned about your well being and the well being of those close to you.

We are being asked what we know about everyone in the disaster area. I hope you can take a minute to respond to this message by telling us how you are doing. We would like to share your information with others through class listservs and the college Web site if you are comfortable with our doing so.

It is hard for us to imagine the magnitude of the disaster confronting you.

Please know that the Williams family is thinking of you at this extraordinarily difficult time.

Warm regards,
