“I pledge to turn down HYP for Williams”

A current high school senior writes on College Confidential:

I Pledge to Turn Down Harvard, Yale, and/or Princeton for Williams in RD… Because Williams freaking rocks. Any joiners?

Answers: Affirmative!

most of us turned down HYP by applying to Williams Early. Williams is once in a lifetime. HYP u can always go for in graduate school

I’ll turn down Dartmouth for Williams

lol same here– williams… i droool.

i’m with you…i applied ED, so i definitely chose Williams over all the ivies. Why? As you said, Williams ROCKS!!!

Well, we certainly agree with that. I for one congratulate them on making the right choice.

(I found out about this thread because one of them linked to my ode on the subject.)

Wonderful ode. Especially “fit like a glove.”

Don’t remember any certificate of admission in my day. I did bother to photocopy the card I sent in rejecting them.

Any news on admissions numbers for regular decision? It seems many of Williams’ peers have had large surges this year. Can Williams keep up with the Joneses?

The record generally has an article about the number of applications. Is the spring semester record being posted online? Was there a record edition this week?

Although many believe that Princeton Law is one of the finer law schools in the country, students should take care with the assumption that they can be in New Jersey for graduate or professional education. After all, Princeton does have what seems to be a visceral hatred of professional school.

MikeyD: There was some sort of campus missive recently, I don’t remember in what form (e-mail, daily message, etc.), informing us that the next issue of the Record will come out on February 15. I suppose that it will be online.

princeton has a visceral hatred of a lot of things. my brief grad school tenure there only reminded me of how lucky I was to be at williams for undergrad.
