In our update on this year’s tenure decisions, long-time commentator Williams Towner wrote:

Hmm, whats the real issue that you want the Record to report on? I know there has been lots of noise about the fact that two of the tenure denials were both working mothers. Maybe there is a story here that the Record should write about?

I am trying to get the Record interested in this story, or at least to acknowledge its existence in its letters page. The Record‘s position seems to be that one persons anonymous comments do not count as evidence.

So, could someone provide some more information? Has there been “lots of noise” about this? Where has the noise come from? Who has made the most noise?

I trust that Williams Towner would report accurately to us, but the Record is looking for more details.
