There seems to have been an inordinate amount of news about non-leftist alumni lately. Here’s another that I should have posted about a while ago.

NEW JERSEY LAWYER — DAILY BRIEFING 12/1/2006 — News Briefs

MORRISTOWN PARTNER NAMED ASSOCIATE COUNSEL TO BUSH
A Morristown-based partner for a national labor law firm was named an
associate counsel to President Bush this week. Cheryl M. Stanton has been a labor and employment and litigation partner for Atlanta-based labor law giant Ogletree, Deakins, Nash, Smoak & Stewart. She graduated with honors in 1997 from the University of Chicago Law School and holds a bachelor’s degree from Williams College. She clerked for Justice Samuel A. Alito when he was on the 3rd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

I had the pleasure of meeting Cheryl at a meeting of the New Jersey Chapter of the Federalist Society over the Summer, and found her to be extremely knowledgeable, outgoing, and engaging. Best of luck to Cheryl on what’s certain to be a challenging next 2+ years.
