Do we know who will speak at Commencement this June? Not that I can find. Place your bets. My guess is someone who might connect with the College’s Climate Action Plan. Someone (Morty?) seems to like the idea of having “themes” for Convocation and Commencement. If this is the theme, who should Williams select? The College would love to get someone as famous as Al Gore, but that is tough. Which Eph would be best for that theme? I am drawing a blank.

As always, my first preference is to honor only Ephs. Do we really need to have someone like David Halberstam or Thomas Friedman read the exact same speech to us that they have read to many other schools? I don’t think so. Better someone less famous who will give a heart-felt speech, touching directly on Williams and written especially for the occasion.
