Subject: Paresky Updates 3/8

Hello everyone. Here are some updates for this week:

1. Masking Tape ONLY – as mentioned in one of the earlier updates, use *only MASKING tape* (and we prefer the blue stuff) to post anything in Paresky (and only on wood or brick surfaces) – NO SCOTCH, PACKAGING, or ANY OTHER TAPE!!! When left on too long, these tapes ruin the finish of the wood, and it’s difficult to remove the residue. Any fliers that were hung with anything other than masking tape have been removed and recycled, and any future fliers posted with anything other than masking tape will be removed and disposed of immediately. (When the bulletin boards arrive and are installed, there will be no posting in the building except on the bulletin boards – I’ll let you know when that happens.)

2. Student Employment – we’re still looking for a few more students interested in working as Student Assistants. Any current student can apply. The job is posted here at the link below, and inquiries should be directed to me ASAP.

Here is the link (pdf).

3. Using the Meeting Rooms – we’ve noticed that many people have been leaving blinds drawn, lights on, A/V equipment on, and garbage sitting out after using the meeting rooms. Please, please – when you’re done using a meeting room, raise the blinds, clean up your mess, put the furniture back in order, and turn *off* the lights and any A/V equipment you’ve used so that the space is presentable and ready for the next user.

4. Clocks – there will be a few more clocks appearing in the building in the near future!

5. Signage & Directories – we’re working on it.

6. Furniture Placement – as mentioned in a previous message, we’d appreciate it if you’d move any furniture back to its original position when you’re finished using it.

7. Auditorium – If you need instructions on how to use the A/V prior to your program, please contact me IN ADVANCE and I’ll arrange to meet with you during the daytime hours Monday – Friday. The projector and screen are set up for WIDESCREEN viewing, though we are having a few difficulties with the set-up that we’re working out (it works, it just crops a bit on the edges). If you are using 4:3 ratio, you may want to raise the screen and use the back wall instead – even with this, the top of the projection will hit the ceiling a bit. And remember, no food or drink in there!

Congratulations and GREAT JOB to ACE, the Neighborhoods, and Sophomore Council on the successful programs on Friday and Saturday night in Paresky. And many thanks to Dining Services for the great food, drinks, and commemorative glasses! The building was abuzz with activity, and it seemed like everyone had a great time. With any luck (and continued student collaboration), we’ll do Club Dub again in the future!

Future updates will likely come once a week, through the end of the semester as needed (but not during Spring Break). Thanks!

-Doug
