Former Track and Field Coach Ralph White is now at Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Ralph White, who has helped lead two schools to NCAA championships, has been named the new head track and field coach at IUP.

White comes to IUP from Williams College less than a year after his women’s indoor team claimed the 2007 Division III national title. Last spring, the Williams women took first place at the All-New England Outdoor Championships, which encompasses all divisions, and White was named the All-New England Coach of the Year, an award given predominantly to Division I coaches.

White had been the head coach of the men’s and women’s teams at Williams since 2001 after serving as an assistant coach during the 2000-01 season. Williams finished in the top four at NCAA meets seven times and his athletes earned a total of 101 All-America nods.

So, of course, the College fired him. Makes sense, eh? Previous coverage here. I, sadly, predicted this outcome.

Longtime readers will recall the other famous Eph associated with IUP: Molly Shattuck! Alas, Molly’s cheerleading days seem to be over. I wonder what Mayo and his skybox buddies use those new binoculars for now . . .
