Brent Yorgey ’04 on perfect numbers. I hope my daughters learn to love math as much as Brent does. Suggestions for accomplishing this goal are welcome.

Well, if your daughters ever want to be eligible for internships at Kane Capital, you’d best start R programming instruction early (and often). I’d suggest GOVT 2001 as an excellent course they could take their junior summers (of high school) because that would prepare them well for the rigorous of MATHS 105 or whatever they’d be taking in sequence.

Great teachers, who love math and find it fun will certainly help.

And then, don’t push it if they love something else more… because not everyone has a natural inclination towards numbers.

Buy cool kids’ math books every so often, and make sure they’re on your daughters’ shelves alongside the chapter books and encyclopedias. They’ll eventually pick them up and start reading them. Here is Amazon’s list. Also there are lots of math puzzles for all ages available; for instance CryptoKids.
