Hi everyone!

I’m a member of College Council’s Committee on Community Interaction (CCI), which was formed in response to the incidents that took place last spring.  If you’re unfamiliar, you can catch up here.  As many of you may know, the debate about the proper response to these incidents raged for quite some time on campus, and CC came up with a solution to form a year-long, temporary committee dedicated to evaluating the way the student population at Williams interacts.  We will be doing this by examining things such as vandalism, theft, racism, and other similar topics.

In an effort to be as transparent as possible, we will be posting regular updates on WSO, links in Daily Messages, and right here on EphBlog.  By the end of the month, we will also have a website available where anyone can post anonymous and private comments about his or her relevant experiences and any questions or concerns s/he may have about our process.

As the next six weeks pass, we will be contacting many different campus groups and certain alumni groups, and holding open forums.  We will also have private discussion sessions available to those who may be too intimidated to come to an open forum.

If there are any questions, please email me (Emily Spine) at ess1@williams.edu or Mac Stone, the chairman of the committee, at 09rms@williams.edu.

For now, here is a link to the minutes from this past Thursday (9/4)’s meeting.
