I just saw an article from the Boston Globe on how Harvard’s academics will suffer from the economic crisis. Courses are being slashed because of the inability to fill certain faculty positions.

Since Harvard’s problem is rooted in the lack of teaching faculty, it seems that elite liberal arts schools–which pride themselves on teaching undergraduates–would be affected in the same way.

Does Harvard’s trend represent what is happening at Williams and other elite liberal arts schools?
