Public Affairs has a Flickr account
Posted by Diana under Administration, Photos, Tech at 7:38 am
While browsing photos on Flickr tagged with “Williams College,” I came across an account for the Williams College Public Affairs office. Wow! They seem to have posted their professional photos that they took for College publications. For instance, there are many pictures from Commencement 2009. Also notable is this great collection of photos of music professor David Kechley beaming, while posing with different instruments. An example:
This is a great step forward for Williams embracing technology. If they put all of their excellent, professional-quality campus photos online, it will be a treasure of a viewbook for anyone looking for pictures of Williams. An example of this kind of thing: the Library of Congress.

Thanks for the post and the links, Diana. Lovely photograph of a guy who appears to like what he’s doing.
Is this Chapin Hall? I’ve only been inside once and it was packed full of people at the time.

Yes, this is Chapin Hall, on the stage facing the (nonexistent) audience.

mom: Chapin Hall is a visually attractive venue, but the ’62 Center has better acoustics for musical events.

Frank,
And I bet the chairs are more comfortable at ’62 as well.
Chapin Hall is beautiful. I regard it with special affection because when I visited my son his freshman year, he listed it as one of his favorite buildings. He gave me his own little walking tour. When we got to Chapin, the doors were locked. But I saw the inside later that weekend when Morty gave his welcome talk.
What a blessing to live in such a gorgeous town, one that has so much personal history and meaning for you to boot.

mom: Of all the places in the world I have picked Williamstown for my retirement residence. Henry and others might rightfully say that I’m dumb, but I ain’t stupid.

Diana- David Kechley looks so happy. It reminded me how much joy comes from music. I tried the link, but got a Yahoo log-in.
SM- The seats in both the main theatres in the ’62 center are definitely more comfortable than the ones in Chapin.
As for acoustics, a friend who performed on the Main Stage for last summer’s WTF said that there are some odd dead spots that made it difficult for the actors to hear each other.
