Ephs are following up on last year’s bone marrow drive during the Great Day of Service, which was also held in memory of Ms. Eckman:

Nancy Dong, a junior at Williams College in Massachusetts and a Sarasota High graduate, is organizing her first registry drive in memory of a friend, Katharine Eckman, known as Casey to family and friends.

Casey was given a diagnosis of acute leukemia and passed away one month later.

“I was a close friend of the family and saw how they suffered through that,” Dong said. “I became inspired to organize a bone marrow drive down here after realizing that most events are held in order to raise money for cancer research, not to get people registered as donors.”

Giving good people and projects publicity is one of my favorite uses of Ephblog.
