In this pre-season installment, I would like to introduce the members of the 2010-11 Williams College wrestling team.
This is a veteran group that will return seven starters from last year’s team that took first in the New England Wrestling Association (“NEWA”). The team will be lead by senior tri-captains Josh Mattana (125), Corey Paulish (149) and Ryan Malo (197–pictured above). Other returning starters include seniors Jon Foster (165) and George Sullivan (174) and sophomores Ces Antista (141) and Tom Foote (285). This group will be joined by other talented returning wrestlers and an impressive freshman class that includes state qualifiers from NJ, NY, OH and PA.
In presenting the team by weight class, my ordering convention is as follows: if there is a returning varsity wrestler they are listed first, next are others in the weight class in grade descending order and if there are multiple wrestlers in a grade, they are alphabetized.
Josh Mattana (’11), senior tri-captain, 3 year varsity wrestler, 29-14 last season, 6th in NEWA in 2009, 2 x Academic All American
