Happy Thanksgiving!

After last week’s early snow storm, a faithful reader and senior faculty member wrote:

On the way to work today, I saw a group of students throwing snowballs at each other in front of Paresky. Minus the architectural backdrop, it could have been a scene from any point in the college’s history in the last 225 years.

Indeed. I am thankful for Williams, for my parents for sending me, for the time I spent there, for the professors who taught me, the peers who challenged me and the woman who fell in love with me.

What are you thankful for?

I am thankful for the Republic.

That we remain a nation of laws today despite the reckless stewardship and poor impulse control of our current leader.

For the sacrifice of many that came before us.

For family and friends.

For meaningful and rewarding work.

For learning, love and forgiveness.

I am thankful for many things, of course. But its probably worth pointing out in this forum that I am thankful for Ephblog, and the work that DDF puts into it, as well as the thoughtful comments from the many commenters and authors. Ephblog gives us an opportunity to stay (tenously) connected to the College and (more importantly) to a (small) slice of the Williams community
